At Last! A Good Bali Art Tour!

Bali Cultural Tours are all about Culture. For us culture is about art.

Bali is known throughout the world as an island of art and there are many kinds.

But art is not white water rafting, or mountain trekking and ART t is what we show you.

People interested in art want to see examples and perhaps even meet the creators.

We can help you to make sense of the timeline of art in Bali.

We can show you Balinese classical painting, traditional painting, modern painting and wood carving and sculpture.

We can take you to art museums and explain the collections, to art galleries to see what good work is currently available and to view the work of masters that is for sale. We can introduce you to museum and gallery owners and some of the maestros.

You will be able to meet Balinese who can explain the intimate connection between art and religion.

We can also show you key aspects of the island's millenias long history ranging from stone monuments and temples deep in obscure river valleys to palaces which are still home to Bali's kings and princes.

You can read about kings and palaces in our 'Palaces of Bali' publication available in March 2012.

Bali is home to almost 30 museums ranging from prehistoric archaeology and volcanology to cartoons. We can take you to any of them.

You can read about them in our 'Treasures of Bali' guide to museums and art galleries available now at all good book shops.

Bali's centre of the arts is Ubud and a valuable in-depth guide is our Ubud & Beyond, currently Ubud's most extensive guidebook describing history, palaces, temples and the arts.

There is, of course, art and artists outside Ubud, especially in the Kuta and Seminyak areas and all are known to us.

All tours are locally operated but based on Richard Mann's guide books.

Who is Richard Mann ?

bali tour

British writer and publisher Richard Mann is the author of more than 80 books about Indonesia since 1984 using his imprint Gateway Books.

Richard Mann's A5-size, full colour tourist guide book series for Bali is the first to focus on Bali district by district – Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud, East Bali, North Bali.

For visitors interested to see more while not travelling too far he provides guide books to Lombok and the islands immediately to the east of Bali.

His Lombok guide is the only stand-alone English language guide for Lombok, most others being bundled with Bali.

Island Hopping East Of Bali is also a first to focus only on the Lesser Sunda Islands from Lombok until Timor and Alor.

No other tour provider is backed by publications like this.

Even Balinese don't always know Bali as well as we do.

We can offer you tour content and quality you will almost certainly not find elsewhere.

His 'Treasures of Bali' a guide to museums and art galleries is the first ever made and the most authoritative source of information about museums and art galleries throughout the island, private and government.
